Soundwave (Anime Type) returns in Takara Tomy’s Transformers Missing Link series, combining the original G1 toy’s size and partially die-cast construction with modern articulation, an additional transformation mode, and an extensive selection of accessories.

Soundwave transforms into a stereo cassette player and can deploy compatible cassette units from his chest. This Anime Type version features newly sculpted mechanical detailing based on the animated appearance, replacing several flat sticker-based details found on the original toy. Optional foil stickers are also included for further customization.

The redesigned joints provide a far greater range of movement, allowing poses such as kneeling on one knee and the iconic cassette-ejection stance. In addition to robot and cassette player modes, Soundwave can transform into the Light Standard Mode seen in the first episode of the animated series, taking the shape of a Cybertronian streetlight.

This release also includes the newly designed Laserbeak Cybertron Mode (Anime Type), marking the first time this version of the character has been produced in a G1-style format. Based on Laserbeak’s appearance on Cybertron in the opening episode, the cassette unit expands the Missing Link Cassette Warrior lineup with a previously unrealized design.

The accessory selection includes the Electric Launcher, Vibration Blaster Gun, Barrier Case, laser guns, headphones, command microphone, and cable. Several accessories feature colors that differ from those included with the separately sold D-01 Soundwave. The headphones are intended for display purposes and are not recommended for actual wear.

Both Soundwave and Laserbeak feature heat-sensitive Secret Emblems that reveal their faction symbols when warmed with a finger. Each also includes a connection point for a separately sold display stand. A retro-inspired newly illustrated package and a collectible card complete the release.
